Maryam Tabar (officially, Maryam Gholamalitabarfirouzjaei) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She received her Ph.D. in Informatics from The Pennsylvania State University. She also did internship at The Washington Post and Microsoft.

Her research interest falls under the areas of Machine Learning (ML) and Data Science for Social Good. In particular, her research aims to propose innovative data-driven solutions to help mitigate grand social challenges in the society, especially pressing challenges faced by vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.
